One of the best ways to utilize a multitude of sensors is through a process called Tip and Cue.

What Is A Tip and Cue Sensor?

You have one sensor that is monitoring an area of interest. It is looking for some sort of change or anomaly in that area of interest.

Once that trigger is spotted it then tips another sensor, usually of a different data or sensor
type, to take an image of that specific area.

As an example, if you have an IoT sensor on an oil pipeline. That IoT sensor is really a
gyroscope looking for large gyrations or movements within the facility.

The goal is for these IoT sensors to detect events happening around the pipeline that are of
interest but might be too remote to visit, in person.

So when one of these sensors does pick up a movement, it would then send an API call to a platform like Earth Cache to have a high resolution, multispectral sensor, take an image of said location.

Once the image is received the party interested in that data can then look and or identify what caused that gyration.

That is an example of Tip and Cue sensor in action.
